My favourite vegan skincare brand

September 10, 2020 Comments : 6

In terms of skincare, I tend to use mostly natural products that are not tested on animals. Sukin has been my favourite vegan skincare brand since I discovered it a few years ago. It is 100% based and made in Australia and the factory is right here, in Melbourne. The products are made with natural ingredients, and as I said, are vegan and cruelty-free. They are also packaged with recycled materials. So, are you interested in discovering this brand? Here are some of my favourite products!

Face cleansers

The cleansing gel for sensitive skin is the first Sukin product I ever bought, and I have been using it for quite some time now. The smell is discreet and I love the refreshing sensation of the gel on the skin, which becomes a kind of foam when you lather it with water. Thanks to ingredients like green tea, cucumber, and avocado oil, the skin is left smooth with a proper clean feeling.

I tried lately the signature cream cleanser but I have to admit that I do not like it that much. Nothing about the product, I think it is more about my taste: I felt that it was actually too “creamy” (yes, that is written on the bottle). As a result, I did not have that same impression of cleanliness after use, like if my face wasn’t washed properly. However, it left my skin hydrated and soothed, but it simply isn’t the right texture for me.

Face serum

My night routine contains mostly Sukin products at the moment. I begin with the facial recovery serum for normal to dry skin. It is infused with “super greens extract of kale, spirulina and chlorella” and promises an even skin tone. As a matter of fact, I feel like my pores are less visible and my skin looks glowy. It dries quickly on the skin so it is perfect to apply before a night cream. The only downside would be the pump of the bottle, which is a bit hard and tend to splash the product everywhere if you are not careful (like me). It might just be my bottle, but otherwise, this is a great product!

Eye serum

My next step is the antioxidant eye serum. Honestly, I don’t really know why this is called a serum, as for me a serum is something you apply under a moisturizer, however this product alone is enough. The consistency is quite thick but it still penetrates quickly in the skin. I do not use it in the morning as my make up tends to crease otherwise, but it is fantastic at night. It is rich, and one pump is enough for both eyes. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, and I can see a difference when I use it, and when I don’t. Its hydrating power is really good, and the floral smell makes it super enjoyable to apply.

Another part of my skincare routine is the hydrating facial mask, that I use once a week. I love the smell which is stronger than the other products but still smells natural (if that makes sense). Mango seed butter and avocado oil are some of the main ingredients. I usually leave it on my face for 10 to 15 minutes, and my skin is soft and visibly more hydrated after use.

The paw paw ointment is one of my favourite lip balms since I discovered it. Some of them contain petroleum jelly, so if you are looking for something more natural, this one is great. I use it mainly at night, or all day during winter as the consistency is quite thick. It protects the lips perfectly and acts like a barrier. Furthermore, this is a go-to product for the skin as well: it will nourish dehydrated, irritated, or itchy skin.

New hydration range

As one of the best vegan skincare brand, Sukin is constantly innovating and launching new products. They recently developed a new range called Hydration, made for dehydrated skin type. I have been trying the “hydrafusion night cream” this past few months, as during winter and when temperatures are getting low, skin tightness is my biggest problem. Thanks to this cream containing hyaluronic acid, my skin was plump and properly hydrated. The texture is penetrating the skin quickly and doesn’t leave any greasy finish. This new product is definitely a win and I will repurchase it without hesitation!

So, should you try this vegan skincare brand?

Yes, definitely! If you are looking for affordable, cruelty-free products made with natural ingredients, you should give it a try. You can check out all their range on their website. There are products available for every skin type.

Furthermore, you will be able to find Sukin on sale regularly in stores like My chemist, Priceline, or even Coles and Woolies (for Australians). For everybody else around the world, they also have a UK and US website, and they ship worldwide. So, have you ever tried Sukin, or are you willing to give it a go? Do you guys know any other good vegan skincare brands?

Would love to try out this brand, especially the facial gel, because my skin is sensitive and I easily get pimples when stressed or sleeping late at night. Haha thanks for sharing this! 😊💕
